This instrument is the second in a project with Jadran Duncumb sponsored by the Norwegian Arts Council.
An instrument by Mathias Alban, Bolzano 1704 is the inspiration for this. It is not an exact copy in all details but optimized for a so called "German theorbo" tuning in d-minor without the f´top string. The d´will then be the top string. The spruce soundboard is a carefully selected two piece "wonder", supplied by Florinett AG in Switzerland. I do carefully select my woods and it is enormously expensive to offer such quality. The grain is straigth in all directions and of course it har the  special tone! The rose is like the original design, only adjusted in size to give the blend of the Helmholz resonance and the direct radiated sound from the belly I am after.
