These photos of my latest Stradivarius baroque guitar show an important detail of my instruments. The string height at the rose position and a long way towards the bridge need to give sufficient clarence for a prepared stroke. This is the essence of a good right hand technique. A technique that enables you to search out all the dynamic expressiveness in the baroque guitar and lute family instruments. I set the string clarence so you will feel confident that your fingers will not touch the soundboard, this is even more critical playing at the high positions. Today lutenists ask for more clarence here than lets say 20 years ago. I will do this modification to older instruments on request.
