The first of two theorboes has got the pegbox almost finished and the neck extension is about to be veneered and fitted.
Some weak points i have observed on my own and others theorboes has been taken into account here. One important detail is in the cross lamination of the pegbox (2. photo) that stabilizes and fix the two parts it is made of whereas one in fact, is part of the neck extention. Core of this one is a light and stiff poplar as can be seen in the 4. photo. I make the pegbox of cherry wood, normally I use maple or bichwood but this cherry is lighter and sufficiently stable.
