For the second theorbo  I have selected a set of rosewood ribs stored for almost 20 years here in our house.
In the last post I wrote about how the mould was adjusted a little lately.  A little more air volume and expectedly more rigidness at the edges of the soundboard.  The reworked mould  has sides (rib 1 and 11) with an angle to the soundboard resembling the other Edlinger lute ( NNM 10213) that is very similar to the one I base my design on.  Here are more photos from yesterdays progress. Rosewood and spacers of maple  from a well respected dealer in France.  My next rosewood theorbo will have ribs of  resawn   "upcycled"  jacaranda furniture parts!
