Some photos from the making of theorbo for the german tuning D minor without the top f,  string.  An ongoing project with a 10K  eur grant from the Norwegian Arts Council.
String lengths of theese instruments are  850mm for the stopped strings. That is huge for such a tuning and the tradition was to omit the 1. string so the top string is : d, not f.
